No kidding, Gary! As I typed my last post I was listening to Mott the Hoople's cover of "Sweet Jane"! Next Thursday, the Outlaws (or what passes for them now) will be playing a free concert at a park in our county seat!

We do it a little differently up here. These guys are friends of mine.
Oh yeah, model forum, sorry...........

This takes me back to the day when you use to have a balanced turntable with a diamond stylus that cost about 50 bucks. Then you took out your disc cleaner and cleaned the album before you played it so it didn’t pick up dust and crackle. Hoping nobody at a party bounced the needle and cracked it. Back when Quadrophonic eight track players were in your car with 100 watt amps blasting Pink Floyd in Quad lol.

I so do NOT miss physical music/movie media. But I think the music industry is brilliant for getting people to think they still need vinyl.

Have you ever been to a good Concert? Then buying an ALBUM of that same Band. The act of putting an ALBUM (do you know what that is?) on a turntable (exactly what pnt said) and cranking that amp up to at least 7...well...maybe 9, if the neighbors like you. LOL... Is nothing short of OUTSTANDING!!! It's a 60's and 70's thing I guess.

Same here... I like nothing more then blasting some Styx or Pink Floyd on the turntable. Hell, I just picked up ELO's greatest hits on vinyl last week!

If you newbies want to get back to the roots of rock and roll get ya some Sister Rosetta Tharpe. A black woman jammin on a guitar way back then was unheard of. Duane

Well Duane...I certainly have listened to sister Rosetta Tharpe for at least 20 yrs or more. A Great Guitar player for sure. Her Husband and the church didn't help her Career any. That's after she played the Cotton Club. That changed her whole life. If I can get this link to work...here's a little documentary on her.

I so do NOT miss physical music/movie media. But I think the music industry is brilliant for getting people to think they still need vinyl. Check this out....indycals... I've been going to concerts 44 years. I've seen some of the best: Stones (3x), Rush (5x), Roger Waters (6x), Moody Blues (10x), Ramones (4x), Iron Maiden (4x) The Who (4x), Kiss (2x), ELO (2x) David Bowie, The Cure, The Sex Pistols, Metallica, Def Leppard, Alice Cooper, Van Halen (with DLR), U2, Peter Gabriel, the Police, REM, the Cult, and even Madonna, and Glenn Campbell. The best "front man" I've ever seen is Florence Welch from Florence and the Machine - she plays the crowd like Hendrix played guitar. But in 2020 I discovered these guys (who've been around since 1994) and I realized that all the above were just the warmup act - I just finished up following them around - 7 shows in 14 months.
