Hello Chaps.
Summer. Not much kit building going on that I can see which after the last couple of years
is a very good thing.
For my part I have looked back 40 years to when I started going to GPs on my own armed with
a 35mm camera for the first time.
For a bit of fun I put this together and have posted it to move on from the Loti GP cars I did recently.
1982 Toleman that go up to second place for a while at the British GP at Brands Hatch.
Not entirely accurate as it was modded from a 1/32nd March 821 shell for slot car purposes but viable.
I have seen one model of this in 1/43rd now discontinued.
The 1/20th market only deals with the later TG183s to 185s included the overdone Senna TG184.
1982 saw the front wheels and tires get that much bigger which causes an issue for this kind of model
where one has to balance the guide blade position against the front suspension height ride height.
Gave it a run out and it handled more like a rally car than a ground effects car but given it was
more or less stuck at the back of the grid it might be about right!
The only reason I am still getting stuck into these slot thingies is that in all honestly I have run out of
shelf/cabinet space in which to drop in any more 1/43rd or 1/25th subjects.
I know some of you build and do not even display your models but I have a certain amount of space
set aside for these and will not set up any more given it is a family home!
These things. I just put another tack in the wall of my home office/studio space and hook them up
by the rear axle and left rear wheel. Exploring some options for wall mounting some of the 1/43rd stuff
so I can get back to building a few more hopefully interesting subjects from my 1/25th stash and drop them into
the vacant shelf/cabinet space.
