Skip the words and find the photos below. Another box stock build, other than adding some belts. First Hasegawa kit, picked up for cheap on the ebay machine. Not a good example of the kit I'm sure as the damaged box, unsurprisingly lead to damaged instructions, damaged decals. Had some warped plastic to deal with. All of it pretty brittle too. Secondhand kits are always a crapshoot (and some new kits). All part of the hobby though. It was a 1992 boxing, so I was also surprised at the amount of flash, considering this was an up to date release of a modern F1 car. Presumably the tooling was mostly new. Anyway, just lead to some more work, lots of test fitting, being gentle. I love this era of F1 cars, most of them being quite pleasant to look at. And I just love that Ferrari V12, so anything with that bolted in the back I want on my shelf. Worked through the issues with this one and got it stuck together so it resembles a 642. Had a lot of fun with it and I'm thinking I may stick with the red cars for my next F1 build and maybe do the Tamiya F189 early. Another pretty car. If you read all that, I'm sorry. Thanks for looking!

Very nice build. I always found the Hasegawa 1/24th F1 kits to be hard to make fit. If you can find one get the Rosso 1/24th kit instead, although a different race version. The Rosso 1/24th F1 kit's are even better than the 1/20th Tamiya F1 kits in detail. To bad they went under in the early 1990's due to a factory fire of suspicious origins.

I’d love to find the Rosso version. I recently picked up their curbside RX-7 and it has pictures on it of a couple of their F1 kits and the box art builds look wonderful. That was the first I’d heard of them.
