Instructions is just a synonym for suggestions!

If you follow the instructions, everything from step 26 becomes a practical impossibility. So we use the Wolf-approved methods from here on. In other words, make it up as you go along. After some mods and harsh language, engine is in:
The brake cables are a tightly coiled spring. Pain to work with but it looks cool!
Now the fun part. If I had installed the body, I wouldn't have been able to assemble the rear suspension. With the suspension done first, I now cannot access 4 of the 8 screws which hold the body to the chassis. I will probably resort to gluing it on, but I know it does fit at least.
It's an easy enough kit to build, once you take the "Heller" approach and assume that no, it won't fit, so fix it! The big complaint is too many screws that really don't do anything, and they have slot heads just to add to the misery.
Thanks for tuning in.

Lookin' good, Paul! Glue is ALWAYS an acceptable substitute for screws! I have an assortment of Plastruct styrene hex rod, I use my Chopper to slice thin pieces to cover screw heads, ESPECIALLY slotted ones.

Slot heads. Why? It’s like they just want people to suffer. Haha. It’s really looking awesome though.

I couldn't sleep so I thought I'd finish it and get it out of the way.
Very nice brass photo etch instruments, which you can't see at all, unless you crank the wheel 180 degrees..
The hood does close. And pop open, all by itself!

But why would you display it with the hood closed anyway?
Looks better now that I tucked the ignition wires in
Easy enough kit to build, just annoying. But if you want one in your collection (like me), worth it.
You would think from 1927, this would be a big honkin monster like the others, but it's actually a very tiny car. For comparison, sitting beside Siffert's Lotus:
Now what to build. I still have lots of Italian Red...........

Wow, that's really nice, Paul! I like the side-by-side pic, shows the evolution well. Spindly wire wheels, no seatbelts, huge fuel tank, lots of power, skinny tires - took a special kind of man to drive those beasts!

Stunning work as always. I agree, why leave the hood closed with all that beautiful stuff underneath. And I always wondered how these kits were, so I enjoyed following along. I love any and all old racing cars so these kits have always interested me. Great result!

GREAT JOB Paul!! That puppy came out really cool. With all that weird stuff you had to put up with...this puppy is a Diamond. I'm with Brian...that side by side pic is way cool.

Very nice! Good results with an unfriendly kit. Remarkable work with the engine
