Tamiya 2001 Peugeot 206 WRC Rallye Monte Carlo

Backstory ramblings, feel free to skip to photos. I needed a break from kits that required a lot of time and patience to put together. A reset kit sort of before I dive back into this old Monogram Lola that I'm sure will go together perfectly. I had this Tamiya kit sitting on my shelf and as its a fairly simple curbside build I thought it would be a nice stress free affair. I was right. This is a lovely kit. It just falls together. Great as a slumpbuster or confidence booster. The only issues I had were some very brittle 20 year old decals and a couple missing pieces from the chrome tree. (Ebay kit) Nothing to worry about. I bought this kit because I remember watching rallying on Speedvision back in the day about the time Marcus Gronholm started winning races. He was a wizard in this car, however, this particular version didn't do well. Fell out early with engine troubles caused by a failed water pump. I always did like these little Peugeots however. Maybe not as cool as a Lancia Delta or the Toyota Celica, and not even in the same galaxy as the glorious Stratos, but cool little cars. Incidentally, I also attended my first rally in person this year so that may have influenced my choice as well. My first rally build and what an awesome kit it was. Here's the finished product with a few shots from before I attached the body to show the interior and cage better. As always, thanks for looking!






















The only thing I did was rough the skid plates up a little bit. Left the front one clear so you could see some details. I may look some pictures up if I get bored and add some weathering, but this car didn't get a chance to get too banged up at Monte Carlo, so I may leave it alone.
