Oh boy! Resin suspension is OK with me, if it comes to that. Same here Lance. If you need to make it all resin, I'm ok with that as well.

Well I will be moving ahead with the resin suspension, not very happy about it but that's the way it is. The people in the jewelry field do not want to do non jewelry work and people in the dentistry field also do not want to do non dental work. The one company I was referred to that does castings for Silver City Models declined to help without any explanation and was a bit rude to deal with. I have one company that may be able to help but they have a 6 month back log, not an option unless something can be worked out. Will keep you all posted as resin pouring begins again.

The investment casting went very well (some of the nicest I have seen) and the parts are on their way back, then off for white metal production.

Just pulled the first test windshield, very pleased, now I just need to find a new source of .015 clear plastic as K&S has quit making it and this was my last sheet.

What type of plastic do you use? Polystyrene, butyrate, or something else?

I have always used butyrate.

I notice a month ago that K&S might be discontinuing their plastic so I went ahead and bought an insane amount of sheets, just in case they did. and give me time to explore other brands

The metal sets arrived today, I will be starting the build for the instructions next week (currently getting ready for this weekends IPMS show). Not sure about the color yet.

Sooo, I started the instructions yesterday, started with cleaning the parts, drilling the holes, filling and sanding a few small blemishes and priming the body, so far so good. Today I tried to use my airbrush for the first time in over a year, you can pretty well guess how that went. I settled on using Testors dark blue and will let it set for a day or two and then apply another coat to hopefully hide a few problems. If this does not work I will just move forward with a build for the instructions that does not include a painted car in an effort wrap this up and get kits in the mail.
