Despite the fact that I would probably be highly offended and take great umbrage...I'd like to see what you're referring to! LOL

Not familiar with that one, either. Seems like I missed a whole bunch of stuff over the years!! Other than walls, anyway. :-)

If anyone is offended...they shouldn't be in racing.... Post it...it's a part of History.

Not familiar with that one..... You mean to say you never ran into someone on the track and had them show you that you were "Number One" next time by? Places I raced it was a pretty universal signal!

In 1967, almost all the pre-race talk was about The Turbine. Like Penske’s Push-rod Mercedes engine, it was different and dominated…Parnelli Jones was fast all month, but was repeatedly accused of “sand bagging”; hiding the car’s true potential…qualifying begins and PJ is sixth fastest…unknown to most, he is running a race setup with full tanks, and not a qualifying setup…Mario uses light tanks and nitro to improve: he is almost 3 mph better than Parnelli…it’s his second straight Indy Pole… The race begins and PJ passes 4 cars in the first corner and stalks Mario in Turn 2…they hit the backstretch and as Jones whooshed by, Andretti gave him the finger…Andretti was convinced that this is what would happen along… This is Lance’s beautiful 67/Pole Winner…well researched, well cast, and good parts fit… Front end… Rear suspension… And Mario (parts are not glued into place: his head is on with rolled tape). More to come…thanks for stopping by! Tim

Nice work as always, Tim.
You’re building a collection of iconic moments Graham’s moustache, Wimille’s wave and now Mario’s salute! Very cool!

That's a scream! Well done! I love things like that. An interesting part of racing history captured in a model build. I never knew that happened. I did see a photo of the finger being given in the corner at one of the Midwest dirt tracks. Either a midget or a dirt champ car, not too long ago. The photo's probably still around. I'll see if I can find it again.

Truely funny! For sure conversation starter. Another original Tim. From moustaches to middle fingers and even Miss Hurst. Very nice sir. Your originality is certainly unique & fun.
I sort'a wonder what could be next.....

Guys: I have to tell ya’ll about my €£¥§#@$ dumb move…My tape dispenser fell near this build and when I grabbed it, it tore away a big part of the nose decal! Too much crap in my build area!
As usual, Lance comes quickly to the rescue with another set of decals on the way…thanks again Lance! Tim

Finally!!! The Great Tape Incident has been fixed… A beautiful car from the beginning of the Aero Era… Lance saved me on decals, not once but 3 times! Thank you Lance! A question I have is this: what do you guys do to save old decals? I have tried several remedies and found Clear paint the best. However, you have to trim the decals closely. Any thoughts? Thanks for stopping by! Tim

Tim,, I have had great success with Testor's Decal Bonder. It comes in a spray can and goes on clear. It also requiires trimming close, it's bascially clear decal film. It worked to save some older decals that shattered when applied without the bonder.
What I am not sure of is whether Testor's sells it amymore, since they've dropped most all of their modeling products.
