As it seems most people are in favor of the Novi over the Miller, the Novi it will be. The art work for the novi is done and paid for (and the Miller as well), I still need to get a printer, chemicals and learn the process for photo etching. I have cast up a few parts and have started test fitting some of the cockpit pieces. Tires, wheels and suspension parts are done and will be cast soon. Instructions and decals also will need to be made, here are a few shots of the test fitting.
The clutch, brake and gas peddles are done but are very fragile , not sure yet how well they will cast up. The steering assembly is done but not installed untill the body is closed up.

Even tho I would prefer the Miller, this looks great! Any new Lance Sellers kit is welcome here. Thanks, Lance, for keeping us poor!

Lance: Looks fantastic! What are the 3 levers for? 1) gear shift 2)? 3)brake? Also, has Michael found the large “Novi” sign on the ‘46? I’ve searched the internet and never found it... And yes, I’m in for one... Tim

The Novi looks amazing. Since I was hatched in 1947, I will definately have to build this one. Thank you Lance for all the fantastic kits. Let us know when to send money

Lance,
You mention the clutch, brake & gas pedals are fragile and you're not sure how well they'll cast up
If they don't cast up well I'd be fine if you include some hints/directions for how we can make our own

The foot peddles are cast and glued in and you can only just see the brake, the others are nearly completely covered up by the steering assembly. I love making parts no one will ever see.

WOW!!
Impressive work
There's a sense of satisfaction in knowing that parts are there, and done well, even if they're not seen

You just never know, if you enter your work in a contest, you might find one of those judges with a dental mirror and a mini-flashlight! Won't he be surprised! LOL! Jim

This one is pretty far outside my wheelhouse but the more I see of this being built, the more I think I should buy at least one LOL Great job, Lance. Keep it up.

Have been pondering this move for some time and decided to hollow out the nose and attempt to add a radiator to it. Not so important on the early cars but the later ones had far less grill on the front of the nose.

My favorite part of any front engine car is the exhaust pipe, or in this case pipes. Hopefully by this time next week I will be attempting my first photo etched parts. I am also considering redoing the hood blisters and louvers.

That sucks! What's the problem, out of stock? It shows as available on-line.

I called yesterday as it has been 3 weeks, they told me it was on back order. I cancelled the order and have been chasing down the components individually.

Chemicals and UV lamp are on their way, should have everything by the middle of next week for the photo etching. Masters are done and await molding.

5 attempts at photo etching and 5 failures, will be getting new negatives (transparencies) printed tomorrow and will dilute the developer and lengthen the exposure time. Will also try an iron in place of the hair dryer to heat set the photo resist film to the brass.

I did photo etch for a year or two - it was a messy PITA. The unit I had to do it was decent - better than what is out there now, but it's long out of production. But it sounds like you're having to bond the photo film to the metal? Back then I was able to buy metal plates with the film already on it.

Yes, I need to bond the photoresist film to the metal, I have tried a hair dryer as recommended, and will next try an iron as pressure can also be applied. I was going to look for a laminator but will also now look into plates with the film already applied.

I have ordered a new batch of photoresist film and a laminating machine, should have them this time next week.

So after 20 some attempts I kinda sorta got it to work. Unfortunately the results suck, at least I have something to finish sizing the opening in the nose. I do have a company I will be in touch with tomorrow who can hopefully help.
