1959 Rathman Simoniz Roadster

Does anyone know which paint is correct for Jim Rathman’s 1959 Watson Simoniz roadster no. 16? Thanks.

Chris Etzel's instructions recommend Model Car World's color 2131 (applied with an airbrush. Smokey's car's were not a really bright gold but I found this way to dull for my taste so I went with a Duplicolor gold and was very pleased with the results. A note about the decals on the tail, these are very hard to get to lay down properly and require a lot of work with microsol (or decal softener of your choice) and has an adverse affect on the gold roundels on the tail. If I were to do this care again I would paint these parts of the tail gold, mask off where the roundels are and then spray the black, applying the number and edge of the roundel after cutting them from the decal.
