I’m working with some old Speedline decals and having a lot of trouble getting them to slide off the paper. I soak them and let them set for a few seconds but they stay stuck to the paper and I’ve had several rip. Anyone else ever had this problem? Any good remedies?

Are you using warm water? A drop or two of dish soap can help as well.

I've used decals that wouldn't let go of the backing paper for over a minute! Warm water and patience. Light rubbing with your finger on the edges until they release will help reduce the tendency to tear. If that doesn't work-give up and go build a race car! (Don't forget to post a photo when you're done)

Which decal sheet are you trying to use, Dustin?

I have been using warm/hot water, I’ll have to try the dish soap. I’m working with the miller lite Harley decals. They were a little yellowed when I got them so I hung them in the window for a while, maybe that had some effect on them

Well the dish soap in the water helped but still took a lot of work and patience. All went on without too many rips. Thanks for the suggestion!
