I am working on one of Bill Joregensen's Eagle kits. Is there an oil cooler on the left side contained within the curved bodywork attached to the rear of the tub. I can't find a picture that shows what is there so I would appreciate any help you might be able to share. Thanks, Jim

Based on other examples, that is what that attachment is usually for.

Thanks for sharing the website connection to canamcars, Calvin. I think there was an oil cooler in this piece and will add it. This is actually not a ground up build. I bought several of Bill Jorgensen's models from Mike Bugel last spring that I did not have. Most of them were damaged in shipment (meaning lots of parts came off) so I have been redoing each one as time permits. I have not learned how to post pictures on the site but it is on my "to do" list for 2015. Jim

Jim. It's fairly easy to post pics but you need a photo sharing site like photobucket. I can walk you thru it when you are ready.
Stu
You should do it and share your photos of Joe Leonard's 72 VPJ!

Yes, Jim, there is an oil cooler in there. The shape is different on the "customer cars" and the AAR cars.

One thing about this car is that it was not a true yellow. It's what I'd consider to be somewhere between yellow and biscuit. But it tends to shift to yellow when photographed - I noticed this in many of my personal photos of the restored car, but I do have some shots that capture it. Keep in mind that your monitor should be calibrated to make sure you are getting the correct colors, but if your monitor is 'close' this should illustrate it, and I'm posting an image of a true yellow car for reference.

Too bad Michael has the color all figured out as I've been wanting to do another color debate lately .......I remember back in the day when Michael and I built our Tamiya Ligier's and had one heck of color debate! In layering two types to Tamiya bleu sprays......those were the good ol' days....

The cars were a very pale yellow. Hard to replicate in scale. The 1972 car had a stock oil cooler "snail" in the opening was parallel with the left side of the car. Vuky crashed it on pole day. There are photo's on the 'Net of AAR testing the car (the original machine) and this oil cooler configuration can be seen.

Thanks for sharing the info about colors. Mike Bugel painted the car a light yellow very close to what Michael showed above so I will go with it. It is "right" as I recall but I will defer to Calvin and Craig on color issues. Thanks for the tip, Hubie, about the location and shape of the oil cooler. I will try to find pictures. Thanks to all of you. Jim
