First up, all but 2 Mallards have been shipped, the last 2 will go out this week. Another batch of about 9 Watson update kits will go out later this week. The Sprite cars are currently being poured. The new Mclaren molds are done and I will start pouring these after the Sprite cars. Future re-issues, I am planning to re-issue the 52 Cummins Diesel later this fall. As far as new stuff, I have been working on the 66 winner, Penske PC10, 83 Eagle and the 77 Wildcat, no promises on any of these or what order they may appear.

Great news Lance. The Mallard is so well designed that I have actually started working on something with the belief I can actually finish it. The McLaren is beautiful and an all time favorite. I'll be thrilled whenever it is done.
And the list of possibles? Well the Lola and PC10 are right at the top for me.
Thanks! MJ

By all means include me in the Cummins Diesel list. I am very happy that you have been re-issuing all these great kits.
Thanks.

Lance, I have always wanted to build the '83 Eagle in 1/43rd scale myself, so when I had the chance a few years ago I took a lot of detail photos of the car when it participated at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in England. If you are interested, please let me know and I will WeTransfer them to you.

What the heck, I'll add my two cents for what it's worth. Next year is the 50th anniversary of Jim Clark's victory at Indy and the first for a rear engine car. I think it would be a great time for another re-release of Lance's wonderful kit of the Lotus 38. I already have two kits, but would welcome another one or two into my stash. And, some new 3D generated Firestones to go along with it would be a real added bonus. Anyone else agree with me? Paul Erlendson

I too agree with Paul, I would be down for a couple Lotus 38s if you re-released them.

Were there any major changes to the Lotus that ran in 66 other than the ghastly whitewalls?

I would disagree, Calvin. The 66 Lotus that Clark, and Al Unser drove in 1966 had a longer wheelbase than the 1965 car, 4", as I remember. The car was to be powered by a BRM 16 cyl engine, which became unavailable at the last minute (an interesting story, in itself). It seems this made the car quite a handfull, Clark spun twice, and Al crashed. I'm not going to get into the "who really won" deal.

The Lotus 38 from 65 &66 had the same wheelbase as the type 42 was designed for the BRM H16 motor. When the BRM did not pan out a Ford motor was installed and Hill qaulified the 42 while Clark qaulified the 38. Hill also had a 38 at his disposal with symetrical (no offset) suspension but preffered the handling of the 42 with its longer wheelbase, a design feature carried over to the Lotus 56 Turbine chassis.

I would never debate Calvin on the subject of Anal Retention, as I consider him an expert on the subject. IMO if you want to build an accurate 1966 2nd place car, or rightful winner, depending on your viewpoint you need to extend the wheelbase a little less than 1/5 inch, or .160 in Calvinspeak. I think Lance is correct on the 1967 cars. The 1966 cars were already in Indy when the BRM engines became unavailable.

Yeah because if you look at Wilkipedia on Anal Retention, I'm one of the references from 1954 (Calvin S. (1954). A Primer of Freudian Psychology. New York: New American Library. )simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anal_retentive

A few clarificaition's, the type 42 was constructed for 1966 for the BRM motor but not raced until 1967 (with a Ford motor). Clarks 1966 car was the 1965 Bobby Johns car (this from Walter Goodwin who restored the 65 Johns car). The type 38 was never intended or altered to hold the Brm H16 motor and ran the same wheelbase in 65-66.
