This is essentially what we start with on this kit. For the time being I am not doing ANY body shots until the chassis is done a body can be hung correctly.

I'm starting here by taking the fuel cell out of all of the molded plastin to make a unit to be fit after the tube chassis is done.

You can see here that all of the molded on garbage has been removed to expose the frame rails which will become the basis for the back half of the chassis tubing.....its foundation if you will.

This will eventually become the fuel cell. It's very bare now but that will change.

As some of you may know....this car has a 4 drum set up for the braking and suspension systems. I have decided to keep this setup as it is all to common to put disks on in place of the original drums. I want as much detail as I can stuff into this car so I have made the wheels removable .

All drums are now fitted with lugs and studs.

You can see that the drums fit the rims like a glove.

This is the next project on the bench. Nice kit. Nice build. Not fond of the car. Not exactly open wheel either. pbh

There is nothing wrong with posting other models here as this section is for any topic...... The reason some of us like to post other models on this forum is because all of our friends are here.
This is my favorite forum BTW....eventhough I have never been just 100% open wheel racing all the time.

The General is not open wheel, and the real car is not a "razzel-dazzle" car, but after seeing what you can do with 1/25th, I can't wait to see your build in 1/16th! I feel compelled to watch, open wheel or not. Let's just call it a special interest car. I'm curious; with the variation wheel-to-wheel of an injection-molded wheel, are your wheels corner-specific? That is, will the left front wheel also fit the right front? Did you need to re-establish your bolt pattern and fudge the wheel? Tell us more about the wheel studs and where you found tiny taper-seat nuts. By all means, keep it up! Keep the build on this site. This is justified as an educational project!

No, they are NOT corner specific. Any one of them can be used on any hub.
