I absolutely agree X10. I leave it till last, that way I'll have wasted the total effort when I screw up the windscreen. Thanks Calvin, I'll try it. By the way, the NOVIs look great. I did the Hurtubise, but after seeing the Unser I wish I had bought two. kip

There isn't a method of mounting windscreens that I can't mess up. You and me both, John. For me, CA glue is a disaster waiting to happen. Oh come on! Listen to nephew Calvin and try it....you'll have flawless screens from now on!

CA can also fog clear plastic. They do make a "fog-free" version. I always have used Tesstors CLear Parts cement, not as quick to dry but more forgiving if you get it where you don't want it (never happens )! Nice job on those cars, Calvin! They were made at a time when I could afford all three, now I just need more building time (there's a good Christmas wish)! Brian

Calvin, your Novi looks great, really like the fasteners you applied to the body panels. I use a similar method to apply the windshield but after tacking it with glue I use future to bond it to the body (this in addition to coating the whole windshield as well)

I tack them down with Krystal Klear and then use the Future Floor Wax method.
When I raced slot cars four times a week I would always coat the body's with Future. As I took a lot of time decorating them it kept them from getting so beat up so fast.

CA glue is like magic: put just a little bit on the work bench surface, put a little bit from there to the part you're gluing, and suddenly, there's what seems like a half-bottle of glue everywhere but where you put it!

Been there, done that. If I had a video of when I glued my thumb to the dash panel of my Eagle, I'm sure it would have all you guys rolling on the floor laughing.

Little by little.... Has anyone ever stayed at a Hotel Tropicana?

We had a Motel Tropicana here at one time. Seemed to be a lot of cars driving through and greeting one guy in the parking lot. Closed down and torn down now.

Before I started to feel bad I had this happen. It got bumped and got scratched and dinged....I even had the car completely clear coated...... But luckily enough I had an extra front number. So we just had to sand the front off and redo the local area with some thirty-two hundred. Then I just used my favorite dull x-acto knife and used my personal touch up kit on it. (Just like seen on TV!) So we will wet sand that and re-apply the new decal and go from there......

and yes it got fixed.....and you can't even tell that there was trouble in the front. Its kinda ironic I'm working on "Tired Iron" and I currently feel like Tired Iron.

We decided to open up the grill. Just used the Dremel ball burrs and hollowed it out. Before this grinding, my switch went out on the Dremel and had to buy a replacement switch and new springs and brushes.....took about 15 mins to pull it apart and replace everything (it had a lot of resin dust inside) so far looks like the new replacement parts worked! Then the grill got sprayed with Flat black and Krylon Chrome (Which I find pretty good)

Calvin, Your treatment of the grill is really clever. Knowing me I would grind right through but you sure gave me something to think about and admire. Do you have a separate building to house all of your building efforts? A museum maybe? I know the Calvin Hall of Fame Museum. Thanks so much for sharing your great builds. Jim

I worry about your exposure levels to resin dust sometimes, Cal.
Nice technique on the grill, the end result should look nicer and be easier to paint!
