Where possible, I've been having many of my 3d parts cast in resin and so far the results have been good. The Watson Lotus and 68 Eagle tires have had great response (as well as the Lotus 29 conversion that Calvin and I collaborated on).
in recent days I've been revamping my Shapeways 3d printed parts page. I've organized it better and put together some packages to make the parts a bit more cost effective. I realize this 3d printing is rather expensive but for many of the parts I produce they are too detailed/complex/fragile to replicate in resin or white metal, or just a bit too obscure. Check out the revised page and if there is a group of parts that you would like to order together that you don't see in a package, let me know and I will see what I can do. On the left side of the page you will see categories to help focus your browsing.

I am also having the Offy/gearbox cast in resin and should have it available next month. Right now I offer a complete 3d printed McLaren drivetrain, including Offy/gearbox, exhaust/turbo, intakes, full suspension and rear wing for $75. Which I realize is really a lot of money for a drivetrain, but my hands are tied by the sheer expense of highly-detailed 3d output. I only use Frosted Detail or Frosted ultra detail materials as these allow me to get the most detail and finest output. These are moderately expensive materials, but they are necessary to get the detail demanded by my models. However, by casting the engine/gearbox in resin and selling the rest of the parts through Shapeways, the price will now be $55 (the Offy/gearbox will sell for a mere $16, and the remaining parts will be available on Shapeways for $39.). If you don't want the whole drivetrain you can buy as much or as little as you want to complete the drivetrain, or just use the AMT parts to finish the engine/gearbox.
To give you an idea how Shapeways works - each product you see (product being a single part or a collection of parts covered by a single price), there is a $5.00 handling fee that goes to Shapeways before they even charge for the actual 3d print. On something like a McLaren turbocharger which sells for $11.99, $5.00 is handling fee before they charge for the actual output. By offering packages, like the four pack of turbos, I'm able to bring the per unit price down to $7.50 each. Wherever possible I will try to tailor packages to your specific needs to get the best price possible.
You can mix and match my engine parts with the AMT parts. If you just want to use my resin engine/gearbox, the AMT exhaust/turbo/intakes suspension can be used with it. If you want to use the AMT engine with my exhaust/turbo/intakes, that will work too.
I hope to continue to add more parts. Next up will be exhaust/turbo/intakes and suspension for a 72 McLaren to go with the resin Offy.
